Around the world, the betta fish is known for its color and for being beautiful. Betta fish are also called Siamese fighting fish and are originally from the Vietnam, Thailand, and the Cambodian regions. Once you are owner of betta fish, you need to take care of them. Here are some essential tips about betta fish care.


  1. Betta Fish Tanks


Betta fish like to have a clean and clutter free tank. You do not need to have a complicated filter or many toys for betta fish. Betta fish like their space, so you should keep the tank simple with open space.


The important part of betta fish tanks are the size. Each betta fish should have a minimum of 3 gallons of water to itself. If you are planning to have another fish in the same tank as a betta fish, you should think about starting with a 10-gallon tank.


  1. Fighter Fish Diet


Betta fish have a very simple diet. There is special betta fish food that you can get a pet store. You can also add in some treats to their diet. Betta fish enjoy small crustaceans, worms, and insects. If your betta fish is swelled or looks constipated, stop feeding it for a few days, and then switch to only live food for another few days. Your betta fish should improve. After your betta fish is healthy again, reduce the amount of betta fish food that you are feeding them. This will lower the chances of your fish being constipated again.


The best way to feed betta fish is small meals over the course of the day. If you cannot do this, feed your betta fish in the morning and evening. You should give your betta fish enough for a 2 minute feeding time. After the betta fish have moved away from the uneaten food, remove as much of the left over betta fish food from the tank as you can


Keeping a betta fish happy is very easy. Overall, they are very easy to care for. If you are worried about your betta fish’s health, you should keep an eye on your betta fish. Look for any changes in color, tears or holes in the fins and their scales. A betta fish should also be active and makes quick movements. If there are any changes to your betta fish, think about any changes that you have made to the tank, or when you changed the water last. Think about moving your betta fish to a new tank, and reversing any changes.  If your betta fish tanks have bubbles on the surface of the water, and the betta fish are showing off, you have very happy betta fish.
